• Open Book Multiple Choice Written Exam

• Class Duration: 3 Days including the exam on the third day

• Allowed 4 hours to complete Written Exam

• No Proficiency Exam

Course Objective:
To assure personnel operating or inspecting an asphalt production operation (at a plant) are familiar with FDOT specification requirements, good materials management, and equipment operation necessary to produce a superpave mixture which will meet the mix design criteria and mix production requirements.

Initial Qualification Requirements

• Must pass the Asphalt Plant Level 2 written exam

• Must have 90 days in asphalt plant operations experience

• Must hold a current Asphalt Plant Level 1 qualification at the time of taking the Asphalt Plant Level 2 exam

Re-Certification Qualification Requirements

• Must pass the Asphalt Plant Level 2 written exam

Important Information:

• Your Asphalt Plant Level 1 qualification is not automatically re-qualified with a passing Asphalt Plant Level 2 test

• A current Asphalt Plant Level 1 is not a requirement to take Asphalt Plant Level 2 as long as your Asphalt Plant Level 2 qualification is not expired.
